এ অবস্থায় থেকে মুক্তি পেতে দ্রুত অর্থ আদায়ে স্বয়ংক্রিয় পদ্ধতিতে যাবার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে বিপিসি। আর এ জন্য কম্পিউটার নেটওয়ার্ক সিস্টেমস (সিএনএস) নামে একটি প্রতিষ্ঠানের সঙ্গে চুক্তি করতে যাচ্ছে তারা। অটোমেশন পদ্ধতিতে অর্থ আদায়ের জন্য সিএনএসের সঙ্গে পাঁচ বছরের চুক্তি হচ্ছে বিপিসির। এই সময়ে প্রায় ২৫ বিলিয়ন ডলার আদায়ের জন্য সিএনএসকে মাত্র ১০ লাখ টাকা দিতে হবে।
বিপিসির চেয়ারম্যান সামছুর রহমান বলেন, জ্বালানি তেল বিপণন কোম্পানির কাছ থেকে পাওনা টাকা দ্রুত আদায়ে আমরা অটোমেশনে যাওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছি। অর্থাৎ ম্যানুয়াল পদ্ধতি থেকে ডিজিটাল পদ্ধতিতে যাচ্ছি। এটি হলে সর্বোচ্চ ৮ দিনের মধ্যে আমারা পাওনা টাকা আদায় করতে পারব। বর্তমানে প্রচলিত নিয়মে তিন থেকে ছয় মাস সময় লাগে।
এছাড়াও ডিপোগুলিতে তেলের মজুদ ও সরবরাহের হিসাব পেতে বিপিসিকে বিপণন কোম্পানির দ্বারস্থ হতে হয়। যা অধিকাংশ ক্ষেত্রেই ভুল কিংবা অসম্পূর্ণ হওয়ায় জ্বালানি নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করার গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দ্বায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত এই প্রতিষ্ঠান অনেক ক্ষেত্রেই সিদ্ধান্তহীনতায় থাকে।
