আগামী পাঁচ বছরে দেশের বস্ত্র খাতে ৫০ হাজার কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করা যাবে বলে জানিয়েছেন বাংলাদেশ টেক্সটাইল মিলস অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের (বিটিএমএ) সভাপতি মোহাম্মদ আলী খোকন। গতকাল বস্ত্র খাতের প্রদর্শনী উপলক্ষে আয়োজিত এক সংবাদ সম্মেলনে তিনি এ কথা বলেন।
সংগঠনটির সভাপতিসহ নতুন পরিচালনা পর্ষদের সদস্যদের উপস্থিতিতে কারওয়ান বাজারে বিটিএমএ কার্যালয়ের সংবাদ সম্মেলনটি অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। উক্ত সম্মেলনে জানানো হয়, আগামী ৯ থেকে ১২ জানুয়ারী পর্যন্ত চার দিনব্যাপী ‘দ্য ঢাকা ইন্টারন্যাশনাল টেক্সটাইল অ্যান্ড গার্মেন্ট মেশিনারি এক্সিবিশন (ডিটিজি)’ রাজধানীর ইন্টারন্যাশনাল কনভেনশন সিটি বসুন্ধরায় প্রদর্শিত হবে। বিটিএমএ ও হংকংয়ের ইয়র্কারস ট্রেড অ্যান্ড মার্কেটিং সার্ভিসেস কোম্পানি লিমিটেড যৌথভাবে প্রদর্শনীটি আয়োজন করছে ।

সরকার গ্যাস ও বিদ্যুতের সংকট দূরীকরণের লক্ষ্যে এলএনজি আমদানি করেছে। তবে সরকারকে এ ক্ষেত্রে একটি বিষয় নিশ্চিত করতে হবে, যেন এর সরবরাহ মূল্য সহনীয় পর্যায়ে থাকে এবং একটি গ্রহণযোগ্য সময় পর্যন্ত অব্যাহত থাকে। এ জন্য সরকারের সর্বাত্মক সহযোগিতা কামনা করেন তিনি।
