চাঁদপুর-কুমিল্লা সড়কের শাহরাস্তি উপজেলার কাকৈরতলা বাজার সংলগ্ন এলাকায় বাসের ধাক্কায় সিএনজিচালিত অটোরিকশাটি দুমড়ে-মুচড়ে যায়। এতে অটোরিকশার পাঁচ যাত্রী নিহত হয়েছেন। আজ রোববার সকাল ১০টার দিকে এ দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে।
পুলিশ জানান, চাঁদপুরের হাজিগঞ্জ থেকে ঢাকামুখী যাত্রীবাহী বাসের সঙ্গে বিপরীত দিক থেকে আসা সিএনজি অটোরিকশার মুখোমুখি সংঘর্ষ হয়। আজ রোববার সকাল ১০টার দিকে শাহরাস্তি এলাকায় এ দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে। দুর্ঘটনায় ঘটনাস্থলেই শিশুসহ ৪ জন নিহত হন। হাসপাতালে নেয়ার পর আরও এক নারী মারা যান।
নিহতরা হলেন- রঞ্জিত চন্দ্র (৫২), ফখরুল ইসলাম (৭৫), আবুল কালাম (৬২), জান্নাতুল ফেরদৌস (২৮) ও তার ছেলে রুমান (৮)।
শাহরাস্তি থানা পুলিশের ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মো. শাহ আলম জানান, চাঁদপুর-কুমিল্লা সড়কের কাকৈরতলা বাজার সংলগ্ন এলাকায় কর্ডোভা পরিবহনের একটি বাস সামনে থেকে সিএনজিটিকে চাপা দিলে এর পাঁচ যাত্রী নিহত হন। নিহতদের মধ্যে চারজনের মরদেহ শাহরাস্তি উপজেলা স্বাস্থ্য কমপ্লেক্সে রাখা হয়েছে।
