আগামী মাস (জুলাই) থেকে ভারতের দূরদর্শনে বাংলাদেশ টেলিভিশনের (বিটিভি) অনুষ্ঠান সম্প্রচার শুরু হবে। সেই সঙ্গে শোনা যাবে বাংলাদেশ বেতারের অনুষ্ঠানমালা। রবিবার (২৩ জুন) সচিবালয়ে তথ্য মন্ত্রণালয়ের সভাকক্ষে আয়োজিত এক সংবাদ সম্মেলনে তথ্যমন্ত্রী ড. হাসান মাহমুদ এ কথা জানান।
সংবাদ সম্মেলনে তথ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, বাংলাদেশের টেলিভিশন ভারতে দেখা যাচ্ছিল না, এ নিয়ে আমাদের দেশের মানুষের মধ্যে ব্যাপক অসন্তোষ ছিল। শিগগিরই ভারতে বাংলাদেশ টেলিভিশন দেখা যাবে।
দুই দেশের রাষ্ট্রায়ত্ত দুই টেলিভিশন চ্যানেলের সম্প্রচার বিনিময়ের লক্ষ্যে গত ৭ মে ভারতের রাষ্ট্রায়ত্ত সংস্থা সঙ্গে বাংলাদেশ টেলিভিশনের একটি ‘ওয়ার্কিং এগ্রিমেন্ট’ সই হয়।
এই চুক্তির আওতায় দূরদর্শন ফ্রি ডিশের মাধ্যমে ভারতে বিটিভি ওয়ার্ল্ড দেখানো হবে। একইভাবে বাংলাদেশে দেখানো হবে ডিডি ইনডিয়া।
বাংলাদেশের একটি কারিগরি দল আগামী ২৫ থেকে ২৭ জুন ভারত সফর করবে জানিয়ে তথ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, ‘তারা ফেরার পর সিদ্ধান্ত নেব কোন দিন থেকে ভারতে বিটিভি প্রদর্শন করা হবে।
