ব্যাংক ঋণে চক্রবৃদ্ধি হারে সুদ বিশ্বের কোথাও নেই, কেবল আমাদের দেশে এ সুদ আদায় করা হয় বলেন, অর্থমন্ত্রী আ হ ম মুস্তফা কামাল। এই চক্রবৃদ্ধি ঋণ সুদ হার বাংলাদেশের ব্যবসায়ীদের গলার কাঁটা। এ কারণেই দেশে ঋণখেলাপির সংখ্যা দিন দিন বাড়ছে। যেসব ভালো ব্যবসায়ী চক্রবৃদ্ধি সুদ হারের কারণে খেলাপি ঋণের আওতায় পড়েছেন তাদের মাফ করে দেওয়া হবে। তিনি বলেন, এ নিয়ম থেকে বেরিয়ে আসতে চাই। তাই আগামী বাজেট থেকে ঋণের সুদ সহজ ও সরল করণ প্রক্রিয়া শুরু হবে।

১০ শতাংশ হারে সুদ হলে বছর শেষে ১০ টাকা নেওয়া হবে। অর্থমন্ত্রী আরও বলেন, এ সমস্যার সমাধান করতে পারলে খেলাপি বাড়বে না। চক্রবৃদ্ধি হারে সুদের ফলে গ্রাহকের নানা সমস্যা দেখা দিচ্ছে। ব্যাংক ঋণে দেখা যায়, তিন মাস, চার মাস ও ছয় মাসে সুদের হিসাব করা হয়। সুদের ওপর আবার সুদ বসানো হয়। এটা আগামী বাজেট থেকে তুলে দেওয়ার উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হবে।
